TABLET PRESS INSTRUMENTATION PACKAGE
Our Instrumentation Package facilitates measurement, recording, storing, analysis and printing of pre-compression force, compression force, ejection force, machine speed, dwell time, etc.
The Tablet Press Data Acquisition (DAQ) system is designed for detailed evaluation of the compression process. The system utilizes National Instruments (NI) hardware and software. The software system is programmed using LabView. The use of LabView programming language allows for the future expansion of system capabilities.
The system can collect data for up to eight different channels at a data rate of 2000 hertz. The system is designed to acquire data regarding tablet press speed, pre-compression force, compression force, ejection force, and tablet knock off force. Three additional data channels are available for custom data collection. System configurations may vary depending on user needs.
The basic system consists of a Laptop computer with DAQ card installed, Windows PC, USB cable, signal conditioning box and sensors. A 110 volt power source must be connected to the signal conditioning box. The USB cable is routed from the PC to the signal conditioning box on the tablet press. The sensors are connected to the signal conditioning box via twist-on connectors.
The signal conditioning box contains the modules necessary to translate low-level signals from the sensors to high level signals sent to the PC via the USB cable. The signal conditioning box also contains an ON/OFF switch which must be connected to a 110 volt power source.
